DES TONGS POUR LE KONPA HAITIEN AVEC T-VICE

Avez-vous déjà essayé de danser avec des TONGS ? Cela devrait pouvoir se faire plus ou moins correctement. C’est au moins ce qu’affirment les danseurs de SALSA, MERENGUE, BACHATA etc. Comme fan viscéral du rythme haïtien, le Compas Direct, j’avoue qu’il ne m’était jamais venu à l’idée de danser avec des tongs. Et pourquoi pas ?

Bref ! Pour le weekend à venir, les plages de Marseille en particulier l’Escale Borrelly, va s’habiller de gala et de tongs – le sable et l’été l’obligent pour accueillir la deuxième édition du festival international connu sous le nom allégorique de SALSA TONGS.

Pour cette occasion, l’institution organisatrice de cet évènement, l’école de danse ALMA LATINA, qui lors de son édition antérieure a accueilli plus de 7.000 personnes, mise sur de très grosses pointures parmi les meilleures exposants du genre musiciens et danseurs pour multiplier par deux ou plus l’affluence.

Si bien l’évènement de cette année correspond à la deuxième édition, ALMA LATINA a juste changé de format ces deux dernières années puisque auparavant, elle organisait des voyages à Cuba et en République Dominicaine pour imprégner les élèves de cette saveur du terroir de la culture de la danse.

Pour cette cuvée 2011, l’offre est très alléchante. A côté d’une palette de danseurs chevronnés venant du monde entier parmi lesquels on peut citer JHESUS APONTE et SHEILA de Puerto-Rico, ADOLFO INDACOCHEA du Pérou, CARLA VOCONI de l’Italie, DIANA MONTOYA de Colombia, ARENYS de CUBA, PABLO BAEZ HUG de l’Argentine, JENNIFER SILVAS des USAANETA KAPKA de Pologne, CHIQUITO Y SU DOMINICAN POWER de République Dominicaine, les amateurs de la bonne musique et des concerts live pourront s’égosiller à souhait en assistant a trois concerts de haute voltige animés par T-VICE d’Haïti, un des meilleurs groupes de KONPA haïtien, JERRY HERNANDEZ Y LA ORQUESTA DEEJAY venant des Etats-Unis d’Amérique et PEDRITO CALVO JUNIOR Y SU ORQUESTA directement de Cuba pour un concert de Salsa à couper le souffle.

La participation de T-VICE à cet évènement grandiose reste une excellente chose pour faciliter l’exposition d’une facette de la culture haïtienne dans un cadre conceptuel latino-américain qui lui est souvent refusé.

Pourtant T-VICE jouit d’une popularité incontestable et non contestée dans la région. Depuis des années déjà, invité le plus souvent par BAZE CREOLE, une association spécialisée et intéressée dans la production de spectacle live mettant en vedette le KONPA, T-VICE remplit régulièrement et périodiquement les plus grandes salles de fête de la ville et de la région.

L’été en termes de météorologie n’a pas été très clément pour la région. Nous espérons que le beau temps sera de la partie et que nous serons très nombreux les fans inconditionnels de T-VICE qui pourront s’enfiler leur tongs pour un concert exceptionnel.

Nous n’avons aucun doute sur la qualité de la prestation de ce groupe dont le vécu est l’un des plus aboutis dans ce domaine.

St. Kitts Nevis beats Haiti in historic match

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – As the 90th minute expired and the whistle was blown, reality quickly set in; St. Kitts and Nevis had beaten its rival Haiti 2-1, and has taken top spot in the CFU Olympic Group D Qualifier Tournament.
It was a battle of the best, with Haiti entering the match with two games under their belt and St. Kitts Nevis having achieved a similar feat.
The atmosphere was tense with supporters of both sides of the game cheering vigorously for their team, hoping to spur them along to victory.
The first half of the game progressed with Haiti, a team known for its technical and offensive game plan, making several attempts to score on its opposition but success in that regard did not come until the 36th minute when Haiti’s Gerald Edwards kicked the ball into the back of St. Kitts Nevis’ nets.
Down one goal entering the second half, the St. Kitts Nevis under-23 team members seemed to have reminded themselves that in order to win, they must protect their territory while making strategic attempts at getting the ball past the opposition’s goal keeper and securely into the back of its nets.
In what some consider a surprise turn of events, Johnny Joseph of Haiti, apparently seeking to pass the ball to one of his team mates, drove the ball into his own nets, securing a goal for the St. Kitts Nevis team in the 78th minute.
The final 10 minutes of the game were tense, with both teams fighting to prove their on-field supremacy. Into the 87th minute, Vice Captain of the St. Kitts Nevis team Javeim Blanchette, seized a glorious opportunity and drove the ball past Haiti’s goal keeper and squarely into the back of the goal.
Tried as they did for the remaining three minutes of the game, Haiti was unsuccessful in securing that other goal which would have leveled the playing field.
As the whistle blew signaling the end of the history-making game, supporters and fans of the host team, sprang onto the field and a spirit of jubilation filled the Warner Park’s Football Stadium.
Members of the Haitian team, however, were far from jubilant and were seen strewn across the football field reportedly tearful at their loss.
This is the first time in history of football in the Caribbean that St. Kitts and Nevis have beaten Haiti at any level of the game.
St. Kitts and Nevis have now joined the winners of Groups B and C, Trinidad and Tobago and Cuba respectively. The battle for supremacy continues sometime in August.
